🌿 Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened soy milk (or oat milk)
- ¼ cup nutritional yeast
- 3 tbsp tapioca starch (for stretchiness)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
👩🍳 Instructions
- Blend the base
- In a blender, combine soy milk, nutritional yeast, starches, olive oil, lemon juice, vinegar, and spices until smooth.
- Cook into cheese
- Pour mixture into a saucepan. Stir continuously over medium heat until it thickens into a gooey, stretchy cheese batter.
- Shape & Set
- Transfer into a lightly oiled dish or mold. Smooth the top and let it cool. Chill in the fridge for at least 3 hours until firm.
- Slice & Fry
- Cut into thick slices. Heat a skillet with a little oil and pan-fry each slice until golden-brown and crispy on both sides.
- Serve & Enjoy
- Serve hot with fresh salad, grilled veggies, or tuck into a wrap.
🌟 Tips
- For extra flavor, sprinkle with dried oregano before frying.
- Use coconut yogurt instead of soy milk for a tangier, creamier version.
- Great for BBQs—just skewer and grill!
